The Girls are Back!

We had another great experience giving back, nail painting, pancake breakfeast and lots of hair, with a group of girls from the Childrens Home. Its pretty awesome, some of the girls have been back for their third time. We are getting to watch them mature and grow up right before our eyes. They look up to the stylist for advice and tips on not only beauty but "girl stuff". It's so rewarding to see them leave with their heads held high and a pep in their step, we can't wait till the next time! How are you making a difference? please share I would love to read your comments! Until next time stay On the Move with 1.0 -Sonny D

"Never Stop Learning"

Hello to all the 1.0ers out there, we are approaching the end of the first quarter of the year, wow time is flying. Here at 1.0 we've been training like crazy!! Just wanted to bring some attention to the education front and how important it is to all of us. You should try to learn something new everyday. Stretch yourself, whether its something in your feild or its something totally foreign. Reading, listening to audios, watching videos and of course internet research are all great tools. Currently I'm reading a few different books, one on the Ritz Carlton, another on a famous hairdresser named Teasy Weezy and a third on real estate mogul Donald Trump. I find that a broad range of topics keeps things interesting. I'd love to hear from you guys on some of the topics your studying and any recomendations. Remember knowledge destroys fear and unlocks your true potential. Till next time keep learning, talk to you soon!! Sonny D

Giving Back

Well 1.0 entusiasts, Happy New Year!! We had such a great year, being that it was our first year made it even more exciting. We decided to end the year like we started it, giving back. We work with the local Children's Home and invited a group of girls in for a day of beauty. What fun, it started with pancake breakfeast and juice and followed with 4 star service from team 1.0, Makeovers including haircuts, color, styling and even make-up!! You should have seen their faces light up when we were all done. I encourage eveyone that made it through 2010 to give thanks in 2011 no matter if your an individual, a business, big or small, pay it forward this year. So I ask you to put on your creative hats and think how you can give back this year, Happy New Year and talk to you soon!! Sonny D

Awapuhi Gone Wild!!

We just recently launched the new Awapuhi Wild Ginger luxury care for dry and damaged hair and it has been so well recieved at the salon! The key to asking your guest to spend the extra time and money on this new treatment is going to be education. When we have a guest in the salon and introduce to them the Awapuhi Wild Ginger, we start with the main three keys of reducing breakage up to 80%, improving shine up to 35% and preventing color fade up to 67%. This is a great ice breaker to open up the door to offering the Keratriplex Treatment to them. 9 out of 10 guest have complained of those three areas as being their biggest concern. While performing the two-step treatment be sure to walk your guest through each step educating them along the way. This is a new experience for them and educating them on exactly what your doing will make them much more comfortable. Follow this formula and you will create well educated, happy salon guest who are excited to celebrate this new service and recommend it to their friends. Thanks for tuning in, can't wait to hear all your success stories with this new treatment!! If there are any topics you would like me to address specifically please email me at sonnyd@paulmitchellthesalon1.com Until next time with passion- Sonny D

Awapuhi Wild Ginger "the system"

Well as you all know we are in the middle of an Awapuhi Wild Ginger Revolution. All of our fellow Paul Mitchell Focused peers can't get enough of it. One of the questions we have been hearing alot from guest is "where do i start, with this new line?" Well the answer is simple, our hair like our bodies after years of abuse or neglect gets out of shape and not in just one area, its all over. Therefore our hair like our bodies needs multiple exercises using different machines for different muscle groups, or a "system" to get in shape. So the answer to "where do i start?" is simple, The Awapuhi Wild Ginger essentials Kit,(priced at $40)features all 6 of the take home products, thats a "complete workout" focusing on all the "muscle groups" of the hair, cleanse, condition, and style!! This is also constant reinforcement of the Keratin, laced throughout the products. So the benefits of reduced breakage, improved shine, and prevention of color fade are just that much more heightened!! Now, doesn't that make sense? Let me know what you think, until next time with passion, Sonny D- Next time we will tackle a topic that alot of our readers have been asking me to address, "How do you increase your avg. ticket in this "sensitive" economy without offending anyone?"
